COMPARING THE NIV "Today's New International Bible Version" TO THE KING JAMES VERSION

Just released a NEW (age?) Bible Version..."Today's New International Version." The TNIV is purported to have the following features it's predecessor the NIV for the last 25 years did NOT have and I quote... "7% change from the NIV, clearer language , everyday english, better understanding of manuscripts, uncompromising accuracy" (who's? certainly NOT God's!?!) QUOTE.. "Members of the Council on Biblical manhood and womanhood based in Louiville Kentucky believe the gender neutral changes in the updated version distort scripture" UNQUOTE. Since I do not have a TNIV the following was a part of the news...

NIV Luke 17:3 "If your Brother sins, rebuke him and if he repents forgive him"

TNIV Luke 17:3 "If any brother or sister sins against you, rebuke the offenders, if they repent forgive them"

KJV Luke 17:3 "Take heed to yourselves: If thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him."

(They picked a pretty neutral verse but I wonder what ELSE they changed drastically?? Please check the KJV/NIV comparisons that follow this article...therev)

David Carr at the Union Theological Seminary... QUOTE... "The original text never meant to say just if your sibling (??..therev) sins against you do this, it meant (??..therev) if your brother or sister sins against you and the way to say that now (??..therev) is by including sister in it." Professor Carr sees no problem with the updates in this latest bible version but he warns (?..therev) that there are (??..therev) translations that sacrifice accuracy for readability.

Some Christians ( such as the remnant ...therev) think a translation should be as close as possible to what was originally written as opposed to an interpreters viewpoint! (end of article...therev)

COMPARING THE NIV "New International Bible Version"....... TO THE KING JAMES VERSION

THE FOLLOWING TABLE SHOWS ONLY SOME OF THE DIFFERENCES... place the scripture Acts 8:37 (4th in the table below) in the search box above and you will see the Bible Gateway program come up with NOTHING in the NIV, Darby, NIV-IBS, RSV and NLT as apparently Acts 8:37 does not exist in new age translations. CK IT OUT!
