The CDC estimates there are 50,000 new cases of HIV infection reported each year. Currently 1.1 million people in the United States are believed to be infected with HIV. In 2006, 59% of new HIV infections were caused solely by male-to-male sexual contact, and 7 % by both male-to-male contact and drug use. That means that homosexual men, who comprise approximately 2% of the population, accounted for 66% of new HIV cases 2 years ago. Of the remaining HIV cases, 17% were transmitted by high-risk heterosexual contact and 16% solely by drug use. Matt Foreman, executive director of the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force, said in their national conference in February "Folks, with 70 percent of the people in this country living with HIV being gay or bisexual, we cannot deny that HIV is a gay disease. We have to own that and face up to that." ............................................ WIFE OF NORTHERN IRELAND'S FIRST MINISTER ACCUSED OF HATE CRIME Iris Robinson, considered Northern Ireland's first lady as the wife of First Minister Peter Robinson, has been accused of 'hate crimes' and is facing both a police investigation and the possibility of a civil complaint, according to reports. A report in An Phoblacht, an online political weekly in Ireland, said Robinson had been invited onto the BBC Radio Ulster's 'The Stephen Nolan Show' to talk about a recent physical assault on a homosexual by a team of thugs described by the reporter as 'gay-bashing.' Some types of cancers like Kaposi's sarcoma and non-Hodgkin lymphoma have long been associated with people infected by the AIDS virus. The study focused on trends from 1992 to 2003, finding that these two types of cancer became relatively less common among HIV-infected people in the United States. But other cancers are on the rise among these patients, who are living longer thanks to anti-HIV drugs. Anal cancer by 2003 had become 59 times more common among HIV-infected people than the general population, according to the study in the Annals of Internal Medicine. ***WATCHMAN.. Hodgkin's disease was 18 times more common in this population, the study also found. "Parents, taxpayers and concerned citizens must force themselves to read these excerpts, as horrific as they are, so you know what kids are being exposed to. North Shore Student Advocacy (NSSA), an organization to help parents and students when they run into problems in public schools, was made aware of these books last fall when a parent complained. The books were part of required reading until NSSA filed a formal complaint with the school, asking the books to be reviewed by committee. The committee decided to remove the books from required reading, but continued to offer them in the classroom as an optional title. "Optional Title," according to the principal, means that the student may select the books to study with peers and be guided by the adult, male teacher. A parental permission slip will be required, but without full disclosure of the sexually explicit content. This conclusion is unacceptable to the complaining parent and to NSSA. They are asking that this pornographic book be removed from curriculum completely. The State's Attorney's office of Lake County, Illinois, deemed the books "obscene" according to Illinois obscenity laws, violating the "distributing harmful materials to minors" statute. However, state and federal obscenity laws exempt schools and libraries under "affirmative defense," giving the school and teachers involved near immunity. The decision comes from Riverside County Superior Court Judge Gloria Trask, who found "no triable issues" on claims that a Christian school discriminated against two girls because of their perceived sexual orientation, according to a report in the North County Times. Trask recently dismissed the claims made against California Lutheran High School in Wildomar by the two girls and their parents. The case developed in 2005 when the girls, members of the junior class, were expelled after school officials noticed behavior by the two that may have indicated a lesbian relationship. A memoir by a 19-year-old language student and a book of interviews with undergraduate sex workers has shocked France, lifting the lid on a practice which appears to be increasingly common. A new study showed a large online market for student prostitutes, describing how male clients, who are often rich, married executives, advertise online for young, undergraduate "escorts" whom they prefer to street prostitutes. These clients pay on average €400 (£300) for a two hour meeting with a student, including sex and "time to talk". One student union estimated that 40,000 students are working as prostitutes. But so is the opposition. The class at the tax-funded University of Michigan in Ann Arbor is called "How to be Gay: Male Homosexuality and Initiation," and is taught by David Halperin. It surfaced in 2000, returned the following year and again a couple years later. Now university officials have confirmed it is returning, and Gary Glenn, president of the American Family Association of Michigan, said "it was and remains an outrageous abuse of taxpayer dollars." "Each time it has been offered we have renewed our objections to it. The first time around the Michigan House of Representatives came with a few votes of cutting the university budget by 10 percent," he said. He said Halperin "makes no bones about it on the other side of the world, knowingly using tax dollars to promote the militant political agenda of homosexuality." Glenn was referring to Halperin's writings on his activities as part of his work in Australia, where he spends part of each year. There, Halperin has written, "The fact is that lesbian and gay studies simply is the academic wing of the lesbian, bisexual, gay, and transgender movement … no one in the field has ever (to my knowledge at least) contested this…" "Let there be no mistake about it: lesbian and gay studies, as it is currently practiced in the U.S., expresses an uncompromising political militancy," he wrote. "We have lobbied universities and professional associations to adopt and enforce anti-discrimination policies, to recognise same-sex couples, to oppose the U.S. military's anti-gay policy, to suspend professional activities in states that criminalize gay sex or limit access to abortion, and to intervene on behalf of human rights for lesbians, bisexuals, and gay men at the local and national levels," he wrote in Australian Humanities Review. "Just because you happen to be a gay man doesn't mean that you don't have to learn how to become one," he writes in the University of Michigan course description. "Gay men do some of that learning on their own, but often we learn how to be gay from others, either because we look to them for instruction or because they simply tell us what they think we need to know, whether we ask for their advice or not." Further, he advises potential students, "the course itself will constitute an experiment in the very process of initiation that it hopes to understand." ***WATCHMAN... BEING HOMOSEX IS LEARNED??? University officials posted a defense of the decision to allow the course on the university website, a tacit acknowledgment of its controversial nature. "This course is not about encouraging people to become gay, but about how individuals in our society create meaning and beliefs about gay culture from literature and the arts," explained Robert M. Owen, associate dean for undergraduate education. "The course also makes no assumptions about the sexual orientation of its students." "We are aware that much of the concern is with the title of the course and acknowledge that the interpretation of that title is very troubling for some people. The English Department … approved this course," he said. Provost Paul Courant boasted of the evolution of the school into one "of the finest public institutions of higher education in the world" and attributed that to "the free and open exchange of ideas." He said Halperin's course "is similar to literature courses taught at many other universities in our state and across our country." Concerns over Halperin's actions were raised even within the homosexual community. In an online forum for homosexuals, one wrote, "Having a course in initiating young people into the gay lifestyle? Isn't that what Christian Fundementalists (sic) claim actually goes on in the gay community? Thank you Dr. Halperin for confirming their suspicions." ***WATCHMAN... Homosexuals who are registered as being a legal partnership already are allowed to adopt Danish children. Recent legislation now enables lesbians equal rights when it comes to issues of artificial insemination. There had been strong opposition to changes in adoption of foreign children due to fear it might lead these countries to take Denmark off the approved adoption list. However, Sweden passed similar laws in 2003 that empowered gays to adopt foreign children and it has not led to any changes in children being adopted. ***WATCHMAN... NOW THAT IS A BOLD FACED LIE! Bill Whatcott was fined 17,500 Canadian dollars by the Saskatchewan Human Rights Commission in a complaint by four homosexuals who charged he "injured" their "feelings" and "self respect" in pamphlets denouncing the "gay lifestyle" as immoral and dangerous, it was reported. Saskatchewan's Court of Queens Bench, which hears criminal and civil cases, upheld a 2006 decision Tuesday by the provincial Human Rights Commission. "This fine is for telling the truth that homosexual sodomites can change their behavior and be set free from their sin and depravity through the forgiveness of sins and shed blood of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ," Whatcott said. A licensed practical nurse, Whatcott regularly campaigns against the political movement that is rapidly advancing homosexual rights in the Canadian legal system. "Shame on the Saskatchewan Court of Queens Bench for pandering to homosexual activism and ignoring the truth," he said. The provincial Human Rights Commission noted Whatcott was "ordered to discontinue distributing any materials that promote hatred against people because of their sexual orientation." The tribunal held that "preventing the distribution of such materials was a reasonable limit on Whatcott's right to freedom of religion and expression as guaranteed by Section 2 of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms." It was noted Ottawa Citizen columnist David Warren criticized the tribunals as "kangaroo courts" and "star chambers" with "quasi-legal powers that should be offensive to the citizens of any free country ... in which the defendant's right to due process is withdrawn." A petition to Prime Minister Stephen Harper is being circulated calling for abolishment, or at least curtailment, of the powers of the commissions. U.S. distributor God’s Word to Women has banned the Australian publication and withdrawn another Bible translation by the same publishing company, Smith and Stirling, for promoting a lifestyle contradictory to scriptures, according to the Australian newspaper The Age. Moreover, Australia’s largest Christian retailer, Koorong, said it is unlikely to carry Ann Nyland’s Study New Testament for Gay, Lesbian, Bi, and Transgender if the version proves controversial. In the study guide, Nyland contends that the word “arsenokoites” has been wrongly interpreted to mean homosexual. According to the classical Greek lexicographer, the word’s meaning is one who anally penetrates another and does not exclusively apply to males, according to The Age. She further claims that most New Testament translations are based on a lack of understanding of Greek word meaning, context, and disregard for academic research. Because of Nyland’s authorship of the gay study Bible, two American scholars have withdrawn their endorsements from her other works. ***WATCHMAN... Ban on 'Mom' and 'Dad' sparks call for exodus 'Public districts no longer are safe environment for children' A call is being issued to Christians who have been engaged in the culture wars in California's schools to abandon the system, after Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger signed into law a ban on "discriminatory bias" against homosexuals and others with alternative sexual lifestyles. "We're calling upon every California parent to pull their child out of California's public school system," Randy Thomasson, president of Campaign for Children and Families, said. "The so-called 'public schools' are no longer a safe emotional environment for children. Under the new law, schoolchildren as young as kindergarten will be sexually indoctrinated and introduced to homosexuality, bisexuality, and transsexuality, over the protests of parents, teachers and even school districts," he said. The law at issue went through the California legislature as SB 777, and now bans in school texts and activities any discriminatory bias against those who have chosen alternative sexual lifestyles, Meredith Turney, legislative liaison for Capitol Resource Institute, said. There are no similar protections for students with traditional or conservative lifestyles and beliefs, however. Offenders will face the wrath of the state Department of Education, up to and including lawsuits. "SB 777 will result in reverse discrimination against students with religious and traditional family values. These students have lost their voice as the direct result of Gov. Schwarzenegger's unbelievable decision. The terms 'mom and dad' or 'husband and wife' could promote discrimination against homosexuals if a same-sex couple is not also featured. "Parents want the assurance that when their children go to school they will learn the fundamentals of reading, writing and arithmetic – not social indoctrination regarding alternative sexual lifestyles. Now that SB 777 is law, schools will in fact become indoctrination centers for sexual experimentation," she said. Karen England, chief of CRI, said that the law is not a list of banned words, including "mom" and "dad." But she said the requirement is that the law bans discriminatory bias and the effect will be to ban such terminology. "Having 'mom' and 'dad' promotes a discriminatory bias. You have to either get rid of 'mom' and 'dad' or include everything when talking about [parental issues]," she said. "They [promoters of sexual alternative lifestyles] do consider that discriminatory." "There will be no exemptions to this indoctrination," Thomasson said. "Private schools and homeschool will be the only sanctuary left for parents in California who love their children and want to protect their sexual innocence." He posted on his website examples of situations he expects to see developing in California schools, under the new requirements: "Please turn to Chapter 10, entitled Famous Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender people. History tells us that great Americans such as Walt Whitman and Abraham Lincoln were gay and First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt was lesbian. It's likely that even prominent biblical personas were gay, such as King David of Israel and the Apostle Paul. Until this year, the sexual identities of these and other historical figures have been denied by discriminatory textbooks that reflected adversely on LGBT people by ignoring their existence." "Here in our boys' sex education assembly, you need to know that puberty means growing facial hair, a deeper voice and a growth spurt when you're in junior high. If you're comfortable with those changes, great. But we're required by law to tell you some of you may have a different future. Some of you may feel more comfortable with girls and feel like a girl inside…" Ray Moore, a spokesman for Exodus Mandate, which advocates Christians give up on public schools and either school their children at home or send them to Christian schools, agreed with Thomasson, and went further. "This really is a call to conservative and Christian pro-family groups to give up this absurd idea of public school reform," he said. "It can't be done. The longer they talk about saving public schools, the longer they prolong this agony, when they could be setting up new schools." He said such plans to indoctrinate children in sexual alternatives is not a surprise at all. "The pagans are simply obeying their god," he said. But he said how Christians educate their children is part of their walk of faith and obedience to God. "You are being irresponsible as a parent to put your child in a public school," Moore said. "There's no stopping this movement. I think they're going to take over the entire system in the next two to five years. "I can't predict how fast the virus will run throughout the public school system, but I think it cannot be stopped," he said. "If traditional minded people abandon that system in enough numbers, it will implode. By leaving your children there as a Christian you're exposing them to extreme moral danger. You can't immunize them with a few hours of Bible study during the week," he said. And he warned that the rest of the nation could feel the impact of the decision, because California is known as a trend-setter in educational practice and policy. "California always has been on the cutting edge of trends, sometimes good and sometimes bad," Moore said. "What happens in California sometimes can spread nationwide. "I do know textbook publishers blow with the wind," Thomasson added, "whether they blow from Texas or California, because those are the biggest states. That's how they sell books." He said textbook editors now have a new agenda to satisfy if they want to sell their products in California. "We could see those [new] books within a year or two." The result, he said, probably will look like good texts. But they will be just like "cultic translations" of the Bible, which have "bitten" people who get them. Capitol Resource announced it still holds hope for schools. England announced a referendum intended to take the issue to the people of California, and bypass the "extremist legislators" who approved the plan, has been filed. "Parents from all across California and the nation have been flooding our office with calls and e-mails, completely stunned that Gov. Schwarzenegger would sign this unbelievable attack on their families," England said. "Now that we have filed this referendum, we need every single parents and concerned citizen to join us in the battle to defeat SB 777's shocking policies." "This referendum allows the people – especially those concerned about the well-being of California's children – to make this crucial policy decision for themselves," added Turney. "It is simply unconscionable to force young children to deal with such confusing matters as transgender, bisexual and homosexual lifestyles in their classrooms. This referendum gives parents, grandparents, uncles, aunts – all members of the family – the chance to voice their adamant opposition to such appalling policies." England said the referendum work will be neither cheap nor easy. "But we are called to defend California families and this is our only chance at protecting our future in this state," she said. The plan was filed with Attorney General Jerry Brown yesterday, and once it is given a title and documentation, supporters will have only 90 days to collect enough signatures – an estimated 434,000 – to qualify the referendum for an election ballot. "We have this legal avenue and we should use it," she told WND. The needs will be for volunteers to coordinate and funding to hire paid signature collectors. "It's realistic if we raise the money," she said. "From where I sit, a lot of parents are going to be paying hundred of dollars a month in private school tuition. Why not pay some now to stop this." Schwarzenegger had vetoed a similar proposal a year ago, saying existing laws already covered the issue. The vitriol over the issue rose to new levels in its latest campaign. As reported, a board member for the homosexual advocacy group Equality California verbally attacked and threatened CRI for its opposition to the bill earlier. The board member sent an e-mail and video to CRI threatening the group would be buried if it continued efforts opposing the homosexual advocacy. "The shocking hate mail we received shows that those behind this legislation do not promote true tolerance," said England. "Only politically correct speech will be tolerated. Those with religious or traditional moral beliefs will not be allowed to express their opinions in public schools." She also cited an informational document published by the Gay-Straight Alliance Network and the Transgender Law Center that already has outlined what it believes to be nondiscriminatory treatment in the school system. "If you want to use a restroom that matches your gender identity … you should be allowed to do so," it advises. "Whenever students are divided up into boys and girls, you should be allowed to join the group or participate in the program that matches your gender identity as much as possible." Further, the groups advise, "If you change your name to one that better matches your gender identity, a school needs to use that name to refer to you." The advocacy group also warns schools against bringing parents into any such discussion with students. A number of earlier cases were documented in which educators, including leaders in California, have taken it upon themselves to promote a homosexual lifestyle to children under their charge. It was reported California Superintendent of Public Instruction Jack O'Connell, under whose supervision hundreds of thousands of children are being educated, has used his state position and taxpayer-funded stationery to praise a "gay" pride event used in the past to expose children to sexually explicit activities. That drew vehement objections from several educators, including Priscilla Schreiber, the president of the Grossmont Unified High School District governing board. "I am outraged that a person in this high-ranking elected position would advocate an event where diversity is not just being celebrated but where pornography and indecent exposure is being perpetrated on the young and innocent children of our communities," she said. The offence will carry a maximum sentence of seven years. Mr Straw, the Justice Secretary, outlined the plans to MPs but the details of the measure are yet to be finalized. He will insert a clause to create the offence when the Criminal Justice and Immigration Bill, which had its second reading last night, reaches committee stage. Under the proposal it would be considered a crime to incite hatred against homosexual, lesbian, bisexual, transgendered and heterosexual people. Mr Straw said: “It is a measure of how far we have come as a society in the past ten years that we are now appalled by hatred and invective directed at people on the basis of their sexuality. It is time for the law to recognize this.” Prosecutions will be brought only with the agreement of the Attorney-General. The new crime will cover people using threatening words or written material, or recording visual images or sounds that incite hatred because of sexual orientation. Evangelical Christian groups were concerned that people who said gay sex was wrong could end up in jail. Colin Hart, director of the conservative evangelical Christian Institute, said: “In a democratic society people must be free to express their beliefs without fear of censure. A homophobic hatred law would be used by those with an axe to grind against Christians to silence them. There have already been high-profile cases of the police interfering with free speech and religious liberty regarding sexual ethics. People shouldn’t face prison for expressing their sincerely held religious beliefs.” Andrea Minichiello Williams, of the Lawyers’ Christian Fellowship, said: “If such an amendment is put forward, it is likely to be in the form of the existing incitement against racial hatred law. The type of actions targeted would not only be violently homophobic words, but would no doubt cover any criticism of practicing homosexuality, homosexual acts and lifestyles.” She added: “It is our view that such a law is not necessary, as the criminal law already prohibits acts of violence, harassment or threatening words or behavior against homosexuals as it does against all individuals. “The introduction of such a law would not be protecting human rights but rather accord special treatment to the homosexual lobby at the expense of freedom of speech and conscience of all.” The Last Days Signs - The End Times - Are Upon The Earth!

"Because no textbook or instruction in California public schools currently disparages transsexuality, bisexuality, or homosexuality, the practical effect of SB777 will be to require positive portrayals of these sexual lifestyles at every government-operated school," CCF noted. Offenders will face the wrath of the state Department of Education, up to and including lawsuits.
